Kabir Das ji’ s birth story is very special. Meaning, different people have different opinions, but people of both Muslim and Hindu religions believe in Kabir Das Ji and worship him. Although no one remembers the main date of birth of Kabir Das Ji, but they believe that this great social reformer. Born in 14 VI century. Varanasi happened in Uttar Pradesh. Kabir Das ji was a saint of formless Brahma. He believed that God can be found only by meditating and worshiping him. He was a staunch opponent of idol worship.

Birth story of Kabir das ji –

Neeru and Neema were a Muslim family. The names of husband and wife were Neeru and Neema. He did not have any children. He prayed to Allah every day that he might have a child. One day he was passing through the pond. There he saw a child in a lotus flower inside the pond. Seeing that child, both of them ran to him. There they saw that the child started laughing loudly after seeing them. Started moving hands and legs. As if he is saying take me home from here. they brought that child home.They thought that God has blessed them and sent this child here, they happily started raising that child. Kabir Das ji’ s spiritual guru was Ramanand.

The story of Kabir Das ji’ s death is more interesting than the story of his birth–

 At that time, there was a blind belief among the people that if you die in Varanasi, you get heaven and if you die in Maghar (Uttar Pradesh), you get hell. From this time Kabir Das ji explained to the people that nothing like this happens. To refute this, Kabir das ji decided that he would spend the last part of his life in Maghar only. When Kabir Das ji died, there was a lot of dispute between people of Hindu religion and Muslim religion. Because people of both religions considered them equal. People of Hindu religion wanted to perform his last rites by burning his dead body. But people of Muslim religion wanted to bury him. But then a miracle happened, as soon as people of both religions removed the shroud, flowers were found in place of the dead body. People started wondering what had happened. Then later people of both the religions divided those flowers in half. People of Hindu religion burnt the flowers. And people of Muslim religion buried those flowers.

What is Kabir Panth ?–

It is a sect run by Kabir Das ji. Sant Kabir Saheb was a great saint, poet and great social reformer. The sect (religion) started by him is called Kabir Panth. His sect is accepted by both the people of Hindu sect and the people of Muslim sect. In the beginning, he used to spin yarn and weave cloth. He spent his life weaving cloth. Weaved precious couplets, which are as relevant even today as they were at that time. Kabir Das ji was a Nirguna formless Brahma (Vishnu) saint, who was a staunch opponent of superstition and hypocrisy, temples and mosques. He believed that God can be found only by meditating.
